The current pandemic has caused significant disruption to all of our lives and cultivating good mental health is even more vital now than it ever has been. With increased uncertainty, heightened levels of anxiety and stress are almost inevitable, but with some simple preventative steps it is still possible to cultivate good wellbeing.

We have pulled together resources from a number of partners to help ministers and church leaders better understand how they can promote awareness of the need for good mental health and help those in their local communities who are struggling.

Here is a range of resources from free introductory sessions to a two day course that provides a qualification as a Mental Health First Aider.

Courses from Mind

Mind offer a wide variety of courses - some are only open to residents of that particular county and some are subsidised for local residents but open to all.

Transpire Training

Transpire Training offer free Mental Health Awareness webinars that are open to everyone

This is a 90 minute workshop which explores;

Mental Health First Aid

If you would like to explore this are in greater details we can also arrange to run a Mental Health First Aid course.

This full two-day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
