Safeguarding update
Recent changes to the Model Safeguarding Policy for Churches
This is not a major overhaul of the safeguarding policy, it is a simple update.
There are four key points to look out for:
-
We have highlighted new legislation.
-
We have included some of the changes that many churches might have made to the way they approach their services and communications.
-
We have brought clarity to points within the policy document where we have received the most questions; for example how to work with volunteers who might be married or closely related to each other.
-
And finally we have replaced the old Incident Reporting Form with a new, simpler version.

When your policy is due for review that is the time we suggest the changes are made.
Don’t forget that the model policy is only a starting point. You will need to think about how this applies to the activities and services at your church (the video below explains this)
